Three Assist Quick Passes

←Back to drill list

This is great drill for practicing quick two-handed passing, ideal for perfecting the tap back to a free pass taker. Set up with three assist players in a row with one ball. An active player stands opposite them, also with a ball.

  1. The active player passes their ball to one of the assist players who doesn’t have one.
  2. The assist player who started with a ball passes to the active player.
  3. The active player passes to the assist player without a ball who didn’t just pass to them.
  4. This continues, with the active player always giving the ball to the assist player who doesn’t have one.

Have multiple groups compete to be the first to reach a number of passes, or to be the team that that can reach the highest number of passes without dropping the ball in a set time.

With more experienced players, you can speed up the passes so that the assist and active players both pass at the same time.
