Circle To Center Passes

←Back to drill list

For this drill you can focus on particular types of pass - two handed, one handed, bounce pass etc. You will need at least 9 players, but more is easier.

Set up with all the players except three in a circle. The remaining three players form a queue in the middle of the circle. The first player in the queue has a ball.

  1. The first player passes out to a person in the circle, then follows the ball so that they end up in the position they passed to.
  2. The receiver of the ball passes back in to the next person in the queue, then follows the ball to join the back of the queue.
  3. The player who was originally second in the queue is now at the front with the ball. They now repeat the process, passing out to the next person in the circle.

See if the players can make 50 passes, or alternatively a full rotation, without dropping the ball.

You can add in a second ball so that the players spend more time passing. This will need two queues of three players in the middle of the circle, so make sure they leave space for one another. Challenge the players to try and get one ball to catch up with the other!
