Team Short Shot Race - Dizzy
This is a fun variation of another drill, good for younger players or finishing off a session on a light note. Teams compete either for a set amount of time, or until they reach a number of points. Set up with two teams queueing behind a post. Each team has one shooter who stands in front of the post.
- The two shooters put their ball on the ground, place their hand on it and run around the ball 10 times.
- They then take shots at the basket, trying to score despite being dizzy.
- The next player in each team rebounds the ball and returns it to their shooter.
- Once either player scores, both shooters move to the back of their queues and both rebounders become the next shooters. The team that scored gets one point.
- The next shooters continue in the same way.
Also try the non-dizzy variant of this drill.
Set up multiple posts and have multiple teams competing. You can make each team play each other, or have a tournament where the winners on each post move one place up the call, and the losing team moves one place down the hall.
